Steelers Got Their Eye On Ireland

Croke Park appears a likely venue if the Pittsburgh Steelers play an NFL game in Dublin in 2025

As an Irishman, the thought of the NFL coming to town is exciting. The last time Ireland hosted a professional football game was the American Bowl in 1997.

Of course, college football in Ireland has been happening since 1988, when Boston College beat Army, 38-24. Here's some more information on college football in Ireland: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/College_football_in_Ireland

According to Pittsburgh Steelers owner Art Rooney II, Dublin might host an NFL game in 2025, marking the city's first in nearly 30 years.

Rooney shared the possibility while speaking with the Steelers broadcast team in the commentary booth at Acrisure Stadium during the franchise's first preseason game on Friday night.

"I think there's a good chance in the 2025 season that we'll have an international game. Of course that's up to the league, not up to us. We're kind of due for that and we are expecting it could be in Mexico or Ireland," said Rooney.

With the potential move to 18 regular-season NFL games, the league mentioned adding more international games for each season.
