Ohio State and Oregon are All Set for The Big Game; MSU v. Michigan Will Be Playing for Bowl Eligibility; Indiana still Undefeated, Minnesoate Stuns USC. B1G Ten Top 5

Ohio State and Oregon Win to Set Up Huge Matchup

Oregon State started out the B1G ten weekend hosting Michigan State, and Ohio State hosted Iowa in what could have been trap games ahead of their big matchup this coming Saturday in Oregon.  Oregon let Michigan State hang around for a quarter or so, MSU stopping a drive early in the red zone, then marching down the field to only get the same treatment by Oregon.  Then Oregon woke up in the second quarter and before you know it, the score was 21-0 at halftime.  They added to that lead to 31-0 before the Spartans were able to get 10 points in garbage time to maybe only upset the bettors that took Oregon and the points.

Ohio State needed a little more time, a half to be exact, to wake up against a game Iowa team, but in the 2nd half they showed why they are ranked in the top 3 as they won going away 35-7.  This is going to be a fun game to watch next Saturday night in Oregon.  Dillon Gabriel is starting to feel real comfortable with the Oregon way, as is Will Howard at Ohio State.  The question to me, is, who's defense is going to step up?  Oregon cannot afford the turnovers they have had in the start of games against the likes of MSU and Boise.  Ohio State has stepped it up a notch.  One has to believe this could go a long way for a shot at the playoff bye.  Indiana is playing well, and could still be a factor.  But this ultimately could be the first of two these two teams play before the playoffs start in December, which both teams will definitely be a part of.

Washington Holds off Michigan;  Wolverines are in Trouble

Michigan traveled for their first road trip of the year on Saturday against the Huskies in a rematch of last year's National Championship game.  Neither of these teams are anywhere near that good, but I think it was proven that Washington is much closer than Michigan.  Washington jumped out to a quick 14-0 lead, Moore pulled the hook on Orji, replacing him with Jack Tuttle, but the spark didn't last long.  Michigan did jump out to a 17-14 lead, but their second half inadequacies showed up again.

Washington has a promising freshman quarterback in Demond Williams, Jr., who showed he can move the ball.  Michigan has nothing in the wings at the moment.  They have shown nothing when it comes to making any adjustments in the second half.

Michigan is in trouble.  They have an off week, then have to travel to Illinois.  After that, they entertain Michigan State, then Oregon, then travel to Indiana and Ohio State, while hosting Northwestern.  This matchup they have on October 26th could really determine if Michigan falls from the kings of college football, to not being bowl eligible.  MSU, at 3-3 has Iowa at home, Indiana at home, Illinois on the road, along with Rutgers at home to go along with Michigan.  You tell. me where that seventh win is going to come for either team.  Who is going to have the most pressure on them?

USC Not Ready for The B1G Ten Road Games Yet? Indiana Still Undefeated

USC has yet to learn how to finish on the road in The B1G Ten.  Everyone gave them a mulligan after they rebounded from the Michigan loss, which looks worse every week.  They woke up and hammered Wisconsin in the second half at home.  Then they took their act on the road to Minnesota, and PJ Fleck sent Lincoln Riley home with another lesson, or the same message:  You need to play four quarters on the road in conference games.  Minnesota scored on a quarterback sneak with :56 left to shock USC.  Now the Trojans get undefeated Penn State this Saturday at home.  Which team shows up?  Great question.  Riley still has to prove to many that he can win a big game with any type of defense.  Minnesota again showed their MO.  Inconsistency.  Doing just enough to make you believe a little bit.  USC will always have the media bias because of their past history, but their weaknesses are there and are sure to again to be exploited.

Indiana wins again!  I know, I know, it was only against Northwestern.  But, alas, they are still undefeated and ranked 18th.  Will they be there in the end, who knows.  But it is fun to see someone else different making a run.  Rutgers lost a big game at Nebraska.  The Rutgers schedule still isn't daunting, but they will end up with 9 wins this year.  Penn State won easily to keep momentum going into their road game at USC.  Purdue and UCLA are so bad.  So bad.  Yikes.

B1G Ten Top 5:

1.  Ohio State---Looked impressive in the second half against Iowa, bring on Oregon.

2.  Oregon--Looked impressive in the second quarter and rest of game against Michigan State, bring on                         Ohio State

3.  Penn State--Maybe should have beaten UCLA a little easier, but they did win going away.   A crucial                         road game against a desperate USC team coming up Saturday.

4.  Indiana--Why not?  They deserve it, undefeated and looking better each week.  They get a bye week.
They will stay undefeated another week.

5.  Illinois--This is where the coin comes out.  Either them, Nebraska, or Rutgers.  Give me Illinois.   They
get Purdue this week, so they will continue their winning ways.
