Judge Makes History

Fastest to 300 HRs, reaching in 955 games

Aaron Judge, the powerful hitter for the New York Yankees, achieved his 300th home run faster than any other player. He reached this milestone during a Wednesday night game against the Chicago White Sox.

It took Judge 955 games and 3,431 at-bats to achieve this feat, and he did so with a three-run homer in the eighth inning. This home run was achieved by connecting with a 3-0 up-and-in sinker from Chad Kuhl, sending the ball into the White Sox bullpen. Judge, a six-time All-Star and the 2022 American League MVP, currently leads the major leagues with 43 home runs.

In comparison, Ralph Kiner reached 300 homers in his 1,087th game, while Babe Ruth did so in his 3,831st at-bat.

The White Sox deliberately walked Juan Soto to face Aaron Judge at the plate. The intentional walk marked only the second time in Judge's career that the batter before him was intentionally walked. The first instance was during Judge's rookie year, specifically on Aug. 31, 2016, when Chase Headley was intentionally walked at Kansas City in the 13th inning.

Furthermore, Judge's home run on a 3-0 pitch was only the third of his career and his first since 2021.

Aaron Judge is the seventh player in the history of the Yankees franchise to hit 300 home runs, joining legends such as Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Yogi Berra, and Alex Rodriguez.

It took Judge 671 games to reach 200 career home runs, and then only 284 games to go from 200 to 300. Judge is the 162nd player of all time to reach 300 homers, and his total ranks 13th among active players.
